A New Beginning: Part 2

Noah is down for a nap again (aka I am actually writing this several days later than the day I actually started it, so now he is actually in bed), so now I can write freely for at least a few more minutes anyway. Back to what I was saying, I really love writing, and it will be great to look back on memories that I may have forgotten otherwise. So now for a few updates. I think the last time I wrote was my birthday, and I was reflecting on how much I had accomplished in the last 25 years. The end of my third year of teaching happened, summer seemed to fly by with all the many activities that we had planned, and another school year started and is already almost coming to an end because it is already February. Some really important things happened this summer though and I will share a few of those things, as well as some more recent things...with lots and lots of pictures.

We spent so much time together as a family!

We went on lots of walks which Noah loved.

We love each other :)

We celebrated weddings.

We took Noah swimming for the first time at 8 months old, and he loved it!

Aunt Erin fed him licorice for the first time, and he loved it (wearing his girl cousins bib)

We got to play with Brielle! (Who we can't wait to see again)

We visited with Kimberly!

And of course Ruby (who never looks excited to play with Noah)

We went on a day picnic/hulk outing with my family in Green River!

Papa took us for rides in the Hulk. Hannah wanted to go faster.

Hannah loved Tyler.

My hero.

My Mommy (Mamaw) came to visit!

We went swimming everyday.

Noah loves swimming!

He also loved chewing on those noodles.

We went for walks. (I am looking more like my mom all the time) Eek!

She of course had to go home again. But only for like 2 weeks and then she came back :)

Noah got even more of a personality than he already had.

Discovered that he really loves dirt.

Especially eating it.

He loved going to Summer Fest.

And going on some rides with Dad. Not so much the big slide with mom.

We went to St. George with Grandma and Jennie to hang out with Aunt Sheri, Lisa and Max, and Joy

Snuggled a lot.

Got to spend one last summer with my Bumpa who passed away August 3.

Got to hang out with Mamaw again while we were there.

Noah loves Bumpa.

Mamaw, Bapaw, and Auntie Espinoza came to our house again so that we could drive to California!

All of us fit in the elevator.

Noah in his carseat, 11 months old, on top of all the luggage.

Getting over his first (and so far only) ear infection the first day we were on vacation. Poor baby.

Celebrated our 2nd anniversary by driving to Las Vegas all day long.

Went to Sea World!

And the San Diego Zoo!

The girls.

We stayed up really late every night and had so much fun on vacation.

Noah loves Bapaw.

Noah had fun looking at all the animals at the zoo.

And snuggling with Mamaw. And getting lots of kisses.

All of us at the zoo.

We rode the roller coaster at the beach. Twice.

Ate lots of yummy ice cream.

We got stuck on the roller coaster on the way up.

On the beach with Bapaw.

We went to a Rockies game for Bapaw's birthday!

In front of the field.

We have a picture that looks exactly like this from our honey moon in front of the New York New York roller coaster. Minus one.

Our family at the beach.

Mom and Noah.

We went and watched Coleman's baseball games.

My mom made this collage for us. I love it.

My growing baby. So happy.

We ran a 5 k together.

We played croquet with Shane, Ashley, and Sammi.

We celebrated Daddy's 24th birthday! With lots of chocolate cake.

Noah loves chocolate.

Mom and Dad Slaughter came and stayed with us to celebrate my dad's birthday!

The boys!

Grama and Papa with the grandkids. We swam all day long!

We had a delicious bbq.

This was actually from our 5k run still. It was the temple to temple.

We celebrated Noah's 1st birthday by having lots of friends over. This is Nolan and Noah.

Noah loves chocolate cake.

He didn't have any issues eating all of it.

We camped in our tent!

Noah loved it! What a handsome boy!

Blowing out his birthday candle.

We went and celebrated with the cougar football team at their opening social.

We went bowling and got birthday presents from Grandma and Grandpa Keil.

We set up my classroom. Again.

We went on a date and made these fun projects out of ceramics!

We took Noah sledding many times.

He is such a big boy! He loved pulling the sled.

I got to go skiing for the first time in 4 years and it was just like I had gone a week before. Happiness.

Noah was a wobbly walker at first, but finally got the hang of it the week of his birthday!

My handsome little stud muffin.

We wish it was summer again...

His birthday cake...pretty impressive I know.

Snuggling with mommy. CHEESE!

We really miss playing in that green grass.

Like father like son.

We went to a high school football game to watch grandpa referee the game.

We went to Sammie's baptism.

Noah in his BYU gear.

Popsicle? Hopefully?

Went to Kaitlyn's wedding and got to spend time with the Wildings.

Everybody asked if Noah and Ruby were twins. That would be crazy.

We miss our fall walks to feed the ducks.

Someone has a sweet tooth like his mother.

They could be twins right?

Freezing at a Fall football game.

Watching daddy play football one cold Saturday morning.

We are learning different body parts :)

Noah loves to play at the park.

Definitely has a sweet tooth.

I guess it's good he likes to brush his teeth.

My class at halloween.

Silly Noah was an elephant and Tyler was a big Peanut.

Noah was very helpful raking leaves.

He got ice cream after his very first haircut because it was so traumatizing. He really knows how to work the system already.

Another freezing football game. I am sensing a pattern. Hopefully we get basketball tickets next year.

My mommy came to visit again!

Noah doesn't really need toys, he just needs boxes mostly.

Annual Jazz basketball game for Tyler's work.

Noah climbs EVERYTHING.

He knows wear his tongue is. That cute little tongue-tied tongue.

Noah burned his hands on Tyler's parents gas fireplace in December. He got second degree burns and we spent a little over two weeks with his poor little hands wrapped up. He did so good.

He had such a good attitude about it, even though we called him Stubby, Salad Tongs, and Penguin baby. :) We love you Noah.

He used his salad tongs pretty successfully.

He could even eat...by himself...for the most part.

So happy.

Hanging out with Grandpa and Huxley.

Can you guess which pile is Noah's?

Playing with Mamaw at Gummy's house for Christmas.

Gummy helping Noah play in the water.

Family picture after sledding, and all of our injuries.

A few updates:

Tyler: Works as the new manager at Goldenwest Credit Union in Provo and is loving it. He is also on a Provo City league basketball team, which is not doing very well :( He just got called as the stake sports director and is busy a few nights a week with that. He is also in the Sunday School presidency which doesn't keep him super busy, and lets keep it that way. :)

Megan: I still love teaching third grade. We just had parent teacher conferences this week, and I am really tired and ready for the weekend. I still feel like I am trying to find the balance between working and spending as much time with my Hubby and my baby. It's a challenge, but so far I don't feel too incredibly exhausted...yet. I honestly have a pretty ideal schedule, and I am so grateful to Jennie (Tyler's sister) for being so willing to watch Noah while we are at work so that we can provide for our family. He loves it because he gets to play with his cousins all day and gets to spend the whole summer with me!

Noah: He is such a little fireball. He has such a fun, spunky, timid at times, hilarious, sweet, and loving little personality right now that has Tyler and I just in love with him. He will be 18 months on the 25th of this month, which we have a hard time believing. He has learned lots of new things in the past few months. He started walking the week of his birthday and hasn't slowed down since. His favorite thing now is climbing everything in sight. He can get up into his high chair faster than we can even follow him into the kitchen. Even though he isn't talking a ton, he knows some sign language like: more, please, and thank you which get him most things he needs. He understands: coat, hat, shoes, mom's shoes/coat, dad's shoes/coat, bath time, diaper, blocks, chair, ball, books, ice cream, cookies, cake, banana, apples, iPad, and like a million more things that I can't think of right now. He can point to his head, hair, eyes, nose, tongue, hands (especially because when they got burned, whenever we would take the wraps off he would go show everyone his hands), feet/toes, ears, and belly. He can say: more, ball, shoes, coat, hat, cup, dog, mom, dad, papa, nana (banana), and he says this other word that sounds like Costco but he says "cat co" over and over. Also, whenever he is trying to get us to get him something, and we figure out what it is, he will start laughing. So funny. He is just getting so big. He loves babies. Melissa (Tyler's sister) just had a baby and whenever we tell Noah to say hi to Bridger, he points at him and laughs and smiles. It's so funny. He will be a good big brother one of these days. He eats pretty good, he is on a really great sleeping schedule. He is still nursing....we are hoping to work on that this summer. He gives really great kisses and hugs and loves to snuggle...sometimes.

We are really happy right now and are just looking forward to the future. Longest. Post. Ever.
